About this statement

Haast Energy Trading Limited (New Zealand) and Haast Energy Trading Australia Pty Limited (Australia), together “Haast”, handle website and business-enquiry information under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles.

Collection and use

We collect names, contact and business details, and correspondence through email and business dealings, sometimes from representatives or public sources. We provide any legally required collection notices. We use this information to respond, manage business relationships and meet legal obligations. Providing it is voluntary, unless required by law; without enough information we may be unable to assist. You may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where lawful and practicable. Website hosts also process technical information, including IP addresses and security logs, to operate and protect the site.

Sharing and overseas handling

We share information only as needed with relevant Haast staff, professional advisers, email, hosting and IT providers, or as otherwise authorised or required by law. Recipients may be in New Zealand, Australia and overseas, including the United States. Email uses Google Workspace; its provider and processing locations are published by Google. We use the safeguards required by applicable law for overseas handling. Contacting us does not waive those protections.

Security and retention

Information is held in access-controlled business systems. We take reasonable security measures and retain it only as needed for its purpose and legal obligations, then securely delete or de-identify it.
